Your online yoga class

Below are some guidelines and useful information to you help get set up for your Live Online Yoga Class.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

I look forward to meeting you in an online yoga class soon.

Joining online

The software we are using for our live online yoga classes is Zoom. Once you have booked your class you will need to setup Zoom on your computer or portable device. Zoom is compatible with almost all major devices such as PCs, Macs, iPads, Android devices and more. Check system requirements and setup.

On the day of your class you will receive an email with a link connecting you to the Zoom video call.

Note: You don’t need a Zoom account to connect to the class but you may find it easier to download the program to your computer or the app to your phone to gain access more easily.

How to use Zoom

Here is a useful video on how to join your class on Zoom.

Spotlight your Teacher

This feature allows you to make the teacher the main screen and mutes all other attendees of the class.

Make your teacher full screen

When in Full Screen mode instead of Gallery View (where you can see everyone in class in equal size), you can minimise the top bar of all attendees by clicking the minus sign and keep the teacher as your full screen.

Change Views

See everyone in class on one screen or switch to viewing only one person at a time.

Pin Video

This feature allows you to pin your teacher as the main screen so it won’t change regardless of who is speaking.

Housekeeping

If you are running late, don’t worry you can still join in. Please just ensure that you mute mike via the button in the bottom left corner of the screen. That way we will never know ;)

How to set up your space

It’s recommended that you set up your yoga mat about 12 feet away from your webcam to always be visible to the teacher and vice versa.

Other than that, it’s up to you. Light some candles, burn some essential oils, put on your comfiest yoga pants and hop on your mat.

Troubleshooting

Sound

If you use a Bluetooth ear piece with your computer or mobile device, check that you have disabled Bluetooth and switch back to your normal speakers.

Video Transmission

If your video stops streaming (your teacher cannot see you), this is likely not a Zoom issue but your webcam. To fix the problem try turning your webcam off or unplugging it, then turn it back on or plug it back in.

If you didn't find the answer you were looking for you can try Zoom's support centre or contact me. Please try to do this prior to the start of class to minimise disruption.
