Safe Use & Contraindications
Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts and should be used with care.
For topical use, essential oils should always be properly diluted in a carrier oil.
Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.
Some essential oils are not suitable during pregnancy, for people with certain medical conditions, or for children and pets.
Stick to 1% dilution when putting oils on children’s skin. Appx 5 to 6 drops of essential oil in 30ml of a carrier product.
Be aware that some oils, while safe to use with children at a 1% dilution, cause sun sensitivity and increase the risk of burns. These oils include:
Bergamot Oil (Citrus bergamia)
Grapefruit Oil (Citrus paradisi)
Lemon Oil (Citrus limon)
Lime Oil (if it’s been cold-pressed) (Citrus aurantifolia)
If you have asthma, epilepsy, allergies, skin sensitivities, or are taking medication, please research individual oils carefully before use.
Discontinue use immediately if irritation or discomfort occurs.
