Testimonials

Ashley’s Beginners Yoga Course was a fascinating journey through yoga history and philosophy as well as covering some very useful basic shapes and transitions. Ashley shared her knowledge with insight and humour. The resources she prepared are helpful and good to refer back to later on too. I took this course when it first went online and, although I missed being in the same space as Ashley, the content and delivery were all still excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone either new to yoga or wanting to refresh themselves about it.
- LUCY, 2020 BEGINNERS YOGA COURSE STUDENT

I really enjoyed the introductory classes and they were a good taster to the world of yoga. Ashley’s instruction was calm and clear. I would recommend the classes to anyone who was interested in trying out yoga for the first time.”

Bexley Ageing Well event 2019

On 12 October Bayleaf Yoga will be presenting Chair Yoga at the Bexley Aging Well Event. Join us for a free taster session (3pm – 3.15pm) or come and have a chat with us about how Yoga could improve your physical and mental wellbeing. See below for more details about the event. We look forward to seeing you there!

Bexley Ageing Well event 2019

From 11-4pm we will once again be welcoming partners from across the Borough to showcase what they can do to help residents stay healthy, fit and connected to their local community at the annual Ageing Well event.

As well as over 30 organisations taking part in a market place, there will be free interactive sessions including ballroom dancing, nordic walking, Tai Chi, singing, and you can even get your hearing checked.

Last year the event attracted over 320 people who were able to speak to council staff and voluntary organisations about what’s available locally. Visitors can enjoy free tea and coffee and free parking is available at the Civic Offices. Entertainment is also provided during the day. The free event is open to everyone including older people, their families and carers.

Cllr Brad Smith, Cabinet Member for Adults’ Services said: “This is a great event for our older residents and their families to pop along and see what’s on offer for them in the borough. As well as being great fun, the day offers a chance to chat to some of our local organisations and partners that provide support and guidance. It’s also a chance to meet like-minded people and discuss what they would like to see more of in the borough. Our Pathways Team will also be on hand to get your views on the proposals for Pathways, the redesign of Adult Social Care in Bexley.

So whether you are looking for a new club to join, advice on how to stay independent, a regular exercise class or activities in our libraries, come along and see what’s on offer in our brilliant borough. Keep an eye out in your local Council library for our Ageing Well magazine with more information.”

Feedback from the 2018 Ageing Well event included -

“Stalls were useful with information and willing to listen”

“Great for establishing potential support available for mum”

“Exercise classes! A chance to ‘have a go’ in the foyer”

“All exhibitors were helpful”

“Taster classes – I’ll use Nordic walking, WI and the free hearing check”
